This non-lucrative residency is specifically designed for newcomers with an internationally recognized talent in the world of science, culture, or sports who wish to establish their base in the Principality of Andorra. This permit authorizes you to reside in the country during its validity and to continue developing your own professional activities with a strict condition: at least 85% of the services provided must be destined for people or entities not residing in the Principality.

Main eligibility requirements

To apply for this permit, according to current Andorran legislation, the following points must be met:

  • International Recognition: Documented proof of outstanding talent and career in your sports, scientific, or cultural discipline.
  • Effective Presence: Establish your main and effective residency in Andorra for a minimum of 90 days per calendar year.
  • Quota: The application must fall within the quota set by the Government of Andorra at that time.

Economic and solvency requirements (Updated 2026)

This residency requires meeting two types of essential financial guarantees for your approval:

1. Guarantee Deposit at the AFA

The main applicant must make a non-remunerated deposit at the Andorran Financial Authority (AFA), which is fully refunded if the resident leaves the country without debts:

  • Main applicant: €47,500
  • Dependents: €9,500 additional for each dependent.

2. Proof of sufficient income

The law requires 300% of the Minimum Wage for the main applicant, and an extra 100% for each dependent:

  • Main applicant: €4,575.99 per month.
  • Dependents: €1,525.33 per month additional.

Necessary documentation for the application

To correctly process the authorization, the Immigration Service requires a complete file that includes:

  • Proof of talent: A detailed curriculum vitae accompanied by any document, award, title, or accolade justifying international recognition.
  • Proof of income: Copy of the income figure derived from your activity during the previous year.
  • Criminal Record: Properly apostilled criminal record certificates from the country of origin, nationality, and last residence.
  • Proof of Accommodation: Rental contract for housing in Andorra or a property purchase deed.
  • Medical Insurance: Private insurance policy with 100% coverage in Andorra.
  • Medical Check-up: Pass a medical examination directly at the Immigration Service.
