Prepare Your Retirement in Andorra: Options, Requirements, and Absolute Peace of Mind

Did you know that in Andorra, retirement is not activated automatically, but must be explicitly requested?
Access to this benefit will allow you to receive a lifelong pension or a one-time lump sum, depending exclusively on how many monthly contributions you have made. And if you decide to continue working uninterruptedly, you should know that you can postpone the collection of the benefit.
We know bureaucracy can be a headache… but we’ll take care of the paperwork! Below we summarize the three main paths so you can plan your future:
Option 1: Retirement Capital (Lump Sum)
This option is designed for those who have contributed for less time to the CASS. The conditions are as follows:
- Age: You must be at least 65 years old.
- Contributions: Between 5 and 15 years of contributions to the retirement branch in andorra or countries with an agreement (with a minimum of 12 months in Andorra).
- Payment: A single payment, without the right to healthcare coverage.
- Deadline warning: The right to claim this expires 3 years after turning 65.
Option 2: Lifelong Pension
This is the traditional route for longer career paths. The key details are:
- Age: 65 years old. (Or automatically at 60 if you receive a disability pension and have a disability degree of over 33%).
- Contributions: A minimum of 180 months in andorra or countries with an agreement (with at least 12 months in Andorra).
- Payment: Received in 12 monthly payments per year.
- Healthcare: Right to healthcare coverage provided you have acquired a minimum of 500 points.
Option 3: Early Retirement
Do you want to retire early? It is possible to choose this option under the following conditions:
- Age: From 61 years old.
- Contributions: More than 480 months of contributions in andorra or countries with an agreement (with at least 12 months in andorra)..
- Reduction: A 7% technical reduction coefficient is applied to the pension for each year you retire before 65.
- Work activity: Incompatible with any work activity until the age of 65 (except for certain legal exceptions for self-employed workers).
